Mandate:

The Welding Supervisor is accountable for supervising and coordinating the activities or workers engaged in Welding. Applies knowledge and cutting techniques, materials, and equipment to fabrication requirements. Analyzes work orders and blueprints to determine the need for supplies and sequences of operations required.

Scope:

Velan Valve Co, Williston VT

Education:

High school diploma or GED. Associates, Bachelors, and/or trade certifications preferred but not required.

Experience:

3 to 5 years of welding experience. Supervisory experience in the management unionized staff in a manufacturing environment preferred, but not required.

Knowledge:

Knowledge of materials and grades such as DT and NDT.

Knowledge of ASME.

TIG/MIG Welding

Skills:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong ability to adapt to change.

Strong resistance to stress.

Ability to manage staff.

Ability to organize, manage time, and other priorities.

Ability to monitor performance indicators.

Ability to work in a team.
