SECRETARY TO THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR

WYOMING COUNTY RESIDENTS MAY BE GIVEN FIRST PREFERENCE

DISTINGUISING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The work involves responsibility for performing confidential, complex administrative functions for the County Administrator on a daily basis. The incumbent performs a variety of tasks in support of the County Administrators executive function including preparing materials for legislative and management matters. This work is carried out in accordance with procedures set forth by the County and as directed by the County Administrator. Responsibilities involve acting as a liaison between the County Administrator, County Administrator, the Board of Supervisors, Department Heads and the general public. Incumbent works closely with appropriate staff to coordinate the necessary reports requested of and needed by the County Administrator.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with a Bachelors degree and three (3) years of full-time paid, or its part-time equivalent, progressively responsible clerical work experience; OR B. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with an Associates degree and five (5) years of full-time paid, or its part-time equivalent, progressively responsible clerical experience; OR C. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and seven (7) years of full-time paid, or its part-time equivalent, progressively responsible clerical experience.

Degree(s) must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/ U.S. Secretary of Education. If the degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, the candidate must provide independent verification of equivalency.
