JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Agricultural Analytical Services Laboratory (AASL) provides analytical testing and research-based recommendations to support sustainable resource management decisions. The lab offers comprehensive analyses of soil, water, plant tissue, manure, compost, and other agricultural materials. Laboratory clients include growers, crop consultants, environmental engineers, government agencies, homeowners, and University faculty, staff, and students.

The AASL is seeking an Administrative Assistant. The position has a wide range of administrative responsibilities including:

  • Receiving, sorting, and batching samples in preparation for analysis;

  • Collating sample chain of custody and supporting analytical documents;

  • Generation of worklists and reports using the Laboratory Information Management System; and

  • Preparing sample kits and associated materials.

This position requires routine communication with laboratory personnel, University faculty and staff, Extension personnel, and laboratory clientele.

This is a limited term position funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of refunding.

Education and Experience:

Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma/GED or Vocational Training. Excellent customer service and communication skills are required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in SIMBA, Concur, WorkDay or similar systems, and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$34,800.00 - $50,500.00
