Electrical Components International (ECI) is looking for a Procurement Director -- Terminals & Connectors to join our team in Southfield, MI with hybrid capabilities.

Qualified candidates must have:

  • Bachelor's Degree, Business, Operations or Engineering (highly preferred).
  • 7-10+ year track record within Procurement, track record of driving change; 12+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Previous experience with category required.
  • Strong ability in reading and managing data to drive business decisions.

About the Position:

ECI is seeking a Category Director -- Terminals & Connectors to join the team in Southfield, MI to lead procurement and supply management activities for multiple areas of spending within this category.  The objective is to maximize savings with bottom line impact, including year-over-year productivity improvements in Total Cost of Ownership (purchase price, maintenance cost, and repair cost) while maintaining or improving product quality and vendor service levels.  This leader will work closely with key stakeholders in member organizations and in corporate functions to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans.

Duties Include:

Lead team of strategic buyers.

Challenge demand and specifications.

Maximize savings delivery and secure Total Cost of Ownership reductions for a category.

Oversee development/ execution of strategies through the strategic sourcing process for specific category of spend areas.

Oversee the process to select and manage suppliers.

Measure and track internal performance within each spend category.

Monitor strategy implementation.

Drive annual productivity improvements in each spend category.

Develop expertise in the category spend categories.

Other duties as assigned include ad hoc analyses or special projects as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, Business, Operations or Engineering (highly preferred).

``` - Previous procurement experience for terminals and connectors required. - Strong ability in reading and managing data to drive business decisions. - Experience with Lean manufacturing methodologies. - Ability to lead, influence and drive change in a cross-functional team environment. - Strong Analytical and Technical Skills. - Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing training and certification a plus. - Supply Chain Certification (i.e., CPM, CPIM, etc.) preferred.
