The Software Developer II will be part of a large Secure Issuance development team, with an active role in the design and development of Adaptive Issuance Suite, a collection of cloud-based and on premises products that enable issuance of credentials (such as financial cards and passports) on Entrust and third-party hardware platforms. Adaptive Issuance Suite products include Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), key management, and smart card personalization, built using Java, C#, C++, JavaScript and modern Web technology, employing the latest in industry-required security standards. The qualified candidate will work with minimal supervision and utilize knowledge, experience and judgment to accomplish goals.
Responsibilities:
Design, test, deploy, debug, implement C#/Java/C++ software applications and services
Effectively apply Agile (Kanban) methodology to track progress and enforce project standards
Follow secure development life-cycle and participate in threat modeling and web application security assessments
Participate in requirements definition, documentation and code reviews
Contribute to the estimation of work for the team by defining task breakdown, project duration and concurrent effort
Assist in production escalation and problem resolution
Review code from others on team
Develop and maintain automation and CI/CD environments
Encoding rules for data preparation for and personalization of EMV chips according to industry specifications
Function independently with project assignments and with minimal supervision
Confidently interact, collaborate, and innovate with team members
Identify opportunities to drive innovation, accelerate product launches, and remove bottlenecks to deliver results
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
3+ years relevant software development experience creating business applications
3+ years Java, C# or C++ experience
Experience with object oriented analysis and design
Experience developing custom web pages with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Experience with RESTful API development and integration
Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
Strong experience with JUnit or other test framework
Strong experience in multi-threaded applications
Understands the concepts of business objects, layered design, data access objects, and design patterns
Ability to travel up to 10%, both domestic and international
Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US
Preferred Qualifications:
Application security design, including TLS, PKCS standards, LDAP and user management, integration of hardware security modules (HSM), PKI certificate signing and validation
Understanding of cryptography: key management, symmetric/asymmetric keys, crypto algorithms
Experience with smart cards (ISO-7816, ISO-14443, or others)
Experience with Windows, Linux, SQL Server, React, JQuery, MQTT, Vert.x, Windows installer, IntelliJ, Tomcat, Spring, Hibernate
Experience developing RESTful web services
Experience integrating software with hardware devices
