POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for managing all operational aspects of clinical services including workflow, staffing, and financial performance for the Clinic and ASC in order to provide the most efficient, effective, safe, and comprehensive patient care, and to achieve business and organizational objectives. Fosters a collaborative environment working closely with management and physician leadership on strategic planning and continuous quality improvement

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Directs and coordinates patient care services; assesses, plans, implements and evaluates all aspects of care
Provides clinical leadership and oversight of staff; implements, supervises, and maintains clinical practice and quality management standards in the Clinic and ASC
Demonstrates appropriate delegation and coordination of tasks and duties in the clinic and ASC according to relevant job descriptions and individual skills
Establishes expectations and models behaviors that demonstrate service excellence to staff and sets an example of high standards of patient care
Assesses and determines staffing levels based on patient care needs, patient flow, and other clinical needs to ensure optimal clinical operations
Works collaboratively with physicians and staff to promote quality customer service and patient satisfaction
Provides guidance on complex clinical situations in a calm and confident manner
Demonstrates effective leadership skills through effective communication and interpersonal skills. Meets regularly to discuss issues and problem solve as issues arise
Delegates appropriate responsibility and authority to staff according to relevant job descriptions and individual capabilities and skills
Assists staff in adapting to change and creates a positive work environment
Ensures all clinical services comply with policies and regulatory requirements, implementing policies and protocols, and leads safety and quality initiatives
Interviews and recommends hiring of qualified candidates, ensures complete orientation/onboarding into position for new staff
Administers effective employee performance management through continuous coaching and development. Provides timely and consistent performance feedback to include annual performance evaluations
Provides support and guidance as a resource for ASC Supervisors
Addresses issues of non-performance effectively, leveraging assistance from Human Resources as needed
Establishes and maintains effective and appropriate lines of communication, authority, and accountability for clinical operations
Works collaboratively and builds productive relationships with divisional management, including executive and physician leadership, as well as corporate central services staff (e.g., human resources, IT, finance, quality, etc.)
Develops and maintains an open and effective line of communication with providers and staff; encourages teamwork and works collaboratively across the organization
Recommends operating and capital budgets and monitors allocation of resources, planning for budgets, cost control and staffing
Reduces the risk of infection in patients, employees, and visitors by providing a safe environment
Maintains accurate, timely, and complete documentation
Maintains confidentiality
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Attendance and participation in practice meetings during, before and after hours as required
In collaboration with Supervisors, develops, plans, regularly schedules, and attends Clinic and ASC Department meetings
Provides continuous program assessment and performance improvement monitoring
Completes special projects or activities as assigned by Practice Director
Interprets and applies organizational policies and procedures in compliance with the organization
Ensures that time, attendance, and paid-time-off records are properly tracked and reported
Demonstrates professionalism at all times, and promotes a positive work environment
Maintains required licensure and participates in ongoing personal and professional growth and development and education
Keeps abreast of current issues involving patient care or practice issues
Supports business initiatives and strategies
Leads injury and incident inquiries and evaluations in collaboration with Supervisors
Performs other duties necessary to maintain the overall efficiency and continuity of the clinic
Displays cooperative behavior and interacts positively and effectively with others to promote a team environment
Is proactive in identifying, reporting, and participating in the resolution of any potential safety issues

QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of RN degree from an accredited school of nursing, BSN desired
Active State of Maine Nursing license or eligible for licensure
3+ years nursing and previous leadership experience
Current BLS required
Knowledge of budgets and financial strategies
Ability to demonstrate initiative, insight, and judgment in all decision-making processes
Knowledge of risk management, HIPPA, patient safety
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients, physicians, supervisors, and staff
Highly organized and able to prioritize and manage time effectively with the ability to handle stress in a fast-paced and changing environment
Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others
Ability to maintain confidentiality

Proficient computer skills and knowledge of electronic medical records
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
Daily use of computer operating instruments; stationary PC, Laptop PC, keyboard and mouse
Light lifting of paperwork, folders or other general record keeping materials
Operation of various office equipment: fax machine, telephone & voice mail system, e-mail system, scanner, and copier
Lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds frequently
Walks frequently
May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Risk of exposure to hazardous conditions and blood borne pathogens
Occasional reaching, twisting, bending
