Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Memphis, Tennessee
Description We're on the lookout for an experienced accounting professional to take on the permanent role of Senior Accountant at a growing Service company in the Memphis, Tennessee area. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This position offers a great long-term growth potential, including a strong compensation and benefits package for the candidate. We are looking for someone who has excellent analytical skills and enjoys working in a challenging and fast-paced environment to support the continued success of the firm. This Senior Accountant role is located in Memphis, Tennessee.
How you will make an impact
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Work with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests
Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP Requirements - Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Excellent attention to detail
Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
Solid understanding of month end closings
Corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems experience a plus
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Skilled at time management
3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Current and relevant ERP system experience
Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
