The BASF Livonia, MI site is a 24/5 operation part of our Performance Materials division that processes chemicals used in the production of polyurethane-based products. We are seeking a senior maintenance technician professional like you to collaborate with operations personnel and contracted service suppliers to prepare and execute routine maintenance and non-routine maintenance. We will be relying on you to execute mechanical maintenance jobs and coordinate and oversee external mechanical contractors at the Livonia, MI site.

During your 8-hour Day Shift as a Maintenance Tech Sr. you will…

• Work in the Maintenance Department under the direction of the Asset Manager alongside other Maintenance Technicians and external contractors and be responsible for general building maintenance mechanical maintenance used in the operation.

• Operate and maintain site utility equipment as well as use your millwright and previous mechanical experience to assemble / disassemble equipment and make general building repairs.

• Coordinate and oversee external mechanical contractors in the HVAC, plumbing, pipefitting, welding or other similar trades and prepare lock out, tag outs and issue safe work permits.

• Track and update assigned tasks in our maintenance management system (SAP) and generate documentation of maintenance activities.

• Be on a monthly rotating on-call list for equipment breakdowns during off-hours including some weekends. This position is overtime eligible and will be expected in some circumstances.

• Support all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures while promoting a safe working environment and be required to work with material that is deemed to be hazardous by RCRA (adhering to site accepted safety policies, including PPE policies).

This position is part of a job family with multiple levels and will be filled at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.

If you...

• Have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in troubleshooting and repairing process and building equipment in an industrial environment.

• Own the ability to climb, work at heights, work within confined spaces, wear air purifying respirators, work under supplied air and can lift up to 50 lbs.

• Can read technical specifications and P&IDs.

• Are proficient with computers, specifically MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
