Position Summary: The Director manages the overall clinical supply chain operations to promote safe, efficient and effective patient care ensuring the supply chain practices adhere to industry standards and regulatory compliance to minimize risk and align with and support the Hartford HealthCare’s strategic initiatives. The Director is responsible for the deployment and daily management of the Tecsys tools across perioperative and procedural areas working directly with operating room (OR) and procedural teams to ensure required supplies are on hand 24/7 for their surgical needs. Key Accountabilities: * Manages day-to-day clinical operations for OR and Procedural areas to the Supply Chain partnership model – clinical service level * Develops and implements methods and systems for improving operational efficiencies and controlling supply inventory, including roll out, optimization and daily management of Tecsys * Develops and implements cost reduction strategies in support of HHC’s Annual Improvement Priority targets * Determines budgetary needs for designated areas and manages to the prescribed budget * Provides leadership, guidance and support to physicians and staff to develop their understanding of Supply Chain best practices to ensure operational and financial goals are met * Maintains effective communications with hospital executives, department heads, suppliers and appropriate others to ensure effective departmental operations * Evaluates short and long-term plans, identifies problem areas, recommends solutions, and implements appropriate changes; partners with the leadership to plan and support operations and program development * Bachelor’s degree is required * Five plus years of healthcare clinical supply chain experience is required * Three plus years of progressive leadership experience is required * Experience in OR and procedural areas is required * Strong working knowledge of Supply Chain Information Systems, including clinical and non-clinical inventory systems. PeopleSoft experience preferred * Knowledge of accounting principles, standard costing, statistical control and other principles of cost management and process improvement * Knowledge of healthcare supply chain management principles in the areas of procurement, receiving, distribution, replenishment and equipment management * A strong work ethic, multitasking, presentation, problem solving and organizational skills, and attention to detail * Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to direct, supervise and work well in a team environment and/or independently We take great care of careers.
