Description:

Come join the Cardiac Rehabilitation team at Saint Francis Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England! We are a member of the nationwide Trinity Health family, bringing compassionate care to our communities.

What you will do:

Under the general direction of the Supervisor, the dietician provides nutritional counseling, nutritional assessment and dietary instructions for programs run by Hoffman Heart and Vascular Institute. He/she will be an integral part of planning and program activities within the Department of Cardiology, including Cardiac Rehabilitation, Outpatient Heart Failure Clinic, Lipid Clinic, and the Women’s Heart Program including grant development and implementation. Position may require working at off-site facilities.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bacherlor’s of Science in Nutrition from an accredited college is required to provide dietary assessment to patients. Master’s degree is preferred.

  • Experience in the preparation, presentation, assessment, and implementation of cardiovascular health education/promotion programs. Preferred two (2) years’ general experience in nutritional assessment and counseling.

  • Licensure: Must be a Registered Dietitian.

  • Certification: Must have BLS/CPR Certification.

Working Conditions

  • Must feel comfortable working with small and large groups. Employee may sometimes be alone with patients in facility.

  • Position requires ability to push/pull/lift light objects more than 10 lbs., perform arm-hand steadiness, and hand-eye coordination skills; walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods; see objects closely and far away and hear normal sounds with some background noises. Position requires ability to concentrate on fine detail with interruption and attend to tasks for more than 60 minutes at a time.

  • Individual must be able to understand and relate to theories behind several related concepts and remember multiple tasks given over long periods of time.

  • Flexibility in work schedule needed because of programming/client needs. Position requires participation in community health events which may take place outside in all weather conditions.

  • Employee may be exposed to blood, body tissues or fluids, infectious microorganisms, hazardous waste materials, radiation, or other potentially harmful materials; use of proper personal protective equipment reduces the risk of illness or exposure.
