Work Arrangement:

Hybrid/Common Days+ : Work 2-3 days a week in a Lincoln office with a designated workspace.

General Purpose of Job

.This position will manage a team and processes for his/her assigned Investment and derivatives accounting area(s) of responsibility. S/he will manage the preparation, recording, analysis, and reporting of complex Investment Accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles

Duties and Responsibilities

Establishes and implements individual and team priorities, performance goals and objectives to ensure completion of responsibility for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.

• Provides training and development opportunities, including stretch assignments, for team members and gives honest and open feedback to aid in the development of talent.

• Manages and evaluates individual/team performance and takes appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards for assigned area(s) of responsibility.

• Identifies and recommends process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality across for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.

• Serves as a resource to team members and internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.

• Manages assigned area(s) of responsibility to ensure workloads are appropriately balanced among team members.

• Ensures that top talent is hired and retained for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.

• Builds organizational capability within his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.

• Manages a team and processes for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.

• Manages a team and more complex Investment accounting activities for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts

• Manage the preparation of more complex Investment financial statements, such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and capital expenditure schedules.

• Analyzes, reviews and reports on more complex Investment accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.

• Reviews investment and financial reports and accounting statements to ensure their accuracy.

• Identifies investment accounting trends, issues and/or concerns and develops and recommends mitigation plans to management.

• Completes quality assurance checks/audits on accounting transactions for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.

• Manages the relationships with internal/external auditors for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility and ensures more complex identified issues are resolved in a collaborative manner.

• Manages and oversees expenses for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility

• Develops and oversees more complex control processes to ensure effective procedures are in place to support internal controls, SOX and accepted accounting policies and principles

• Monitors Sox and internal control procedures, monitors effectiveness and develops/implements more complex mitigation plans as needed.

• Manages the process and provides more complex analysis of earning memos and key metrics for the general account team.

• Manages the process financial foot note information for SEC, GAAP and statutory reporting.

• Provides more complex investment accounting research on high profile general account investments and derivatives.

Education and Experience

• 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) (Minimum Required)

• 5+ Years of experience in accounting, securities or financial reporting that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position, including 2+ years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience (Required)

Language Skills

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret both internal and external documents such as general media/publications, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, policies, proposals, and standard operating procedures.

• Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Mathematical Skills

• Apply concepts such as probability, statistics, modeling, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.

• Works with mathematical concepts such as averages and/or variances.

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to analyze information and to evaluate the implications of a course of action or solution.

• Ability to interpret and apply common sense understanding to carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

• Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Pay Range: $67,000 - $120,700

Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
