Fresenius Medical Care North America Sr. Quality Assurance Analyst in Durham, North Carolina
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst works with less general supervision while performing software testing of projects, enhancements and defects. The responsibilities include the review of software requirements, writing test strategy documents, development of test cases, execution of test cases, and the reporting of test status. The role involves the thorough testing of software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participates as a member of the Software Development Life Cycle team from initiation through to release following the Waterfall and/or Agile development methodologies.
Participates in project meetings with cross functional team members.
Reviews and provides input on software functional requirement definitions.
Creates the test strategy document and leads the review of the document.
Prepares test plans and test case definitions. Documents test cases in HP ALM Quality Center.
Performs testing based off test case definitions.
Documents and reports defects in HP ALM Quality Center. Works with development staff to answer questions that may arise during testing and to resolve issues. Performs testing of defect fixes.
Reports test status and metrics to supervisor and cross functional team members.
Provides support to other QA staff members that are performing testing tasks.

Bachelor’s Degree required; IT discipline preferred
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
5 – 8 years’ related experience in quality assurance and software testing.
Comprehensive knowledge of QA process and testing methodology including unit, integration, system, and acceptance testing.
Experience participating in requirements reviews and writing detailed test plans and test cases based on the requirements.
Hands on experience performing manual testing, logging defects and working through resolution and closure of the defects.
Experience writing SQL queries in Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server a plus.
Experience testing in web based environments.
Some experience testing reports a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
3+ years’ experience working with HP ALM Quality Center.
A self-starter who pays attention to detail.
Ability to interact professionally with all levels of management and cross functional team members.
Financial and clinical healthcare testing background a plus.
