- - Performs equipment inspections; determines inspection frequencies; reviews inspection data - Ensures that inspection data are evaluated, recorded and reported, develops and maintains equipment history files - Ensures equipment meets PSM/mechanical integrity standard - Reviews procedures (i.e. welding) to ensure conformance to codes and regulations - Perform proficiency tests and certification checks for contractors - Provides contractors with instructions for repairs and modifications - Manages contract inspections, verifies that codes, specifications and company standards are met - Coordinates equipment inspections at vendor shops - Provides technical assistance during selection of equipment for projects and replacement - Interprets specification and design drawings, reviews packages and QA/QC requirements - Generates time lines for completion of special projects - Applies equipment skills and knowledge to improve reliability; Troubleshoots equipment failures and deficiencies; Monitors equipment performance; recommends improvements - Researches and develops recommendations for preventive maintenance needs - Prepares and reviews maintenance work procedures as required - Maintains test equipment certifications as required - Prepares drawings for modifications - Performs equipment application reviews - Conducts non-destructive and ultrasonic testing, positive material identification, X-rays and uses specialized diagnostic equipment. - Recommends equipment repair/replacement
