SECRETARY

We are excited to invite a passionate and experienced Secretary to join our team! Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is searching for a detail-oriented Receptionist for our Families w/ Children facility located in the Williamsbridge area of the Bronx. The Secretary is responsible for directing calls, timekeeping, tracking financial transactions, maintaining records, and carrying out compliance protocols. ABOUT HOMES FOR THE HOMELESS, INC.

Homes for the Homeless, Inc. (HFH) is a non-profit social services organization operating family shelters throughout NYC that serve as a hub of opportunity for families both residing in shelter as well as those in the neighboring community. On-site programs range from childcare, early childhood education centers, afterschool clubs and programs, and youth recreation activities, such as sports teams, to housing assistance, case management, parenting workshops, career and job vocational training, support groups and substance abuse assistance, and family engagement and recreation events for the whole family.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet the clients in Family Services

  • Redirect calls to Family Services staff

  • Create passes and residency letters for the clients

  • Upload the inspection forms in CARES in timely matters

  • File documentation in the clients’ records

  • Guide the ineligible status clients to get reinstated in CARES

  • Assist the Director of Family Services with the department daily operations.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Satisfactory combination of experience and education. (Student. Associate…)

  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office applications preferred

  • Ability to prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks with strong organization and time management skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Bilingual is a plus
