Description

Provides support for the Athletics Department and programs. Primarily responsible for creating and implementing strength and conditioning programs for all athletic teams.

Examples of Duties

• Oversees the daily operations of the fitness center

• In-season/ off-season strength and conditioning plans for each team

• Supports college-wide athletic events

• Assists with setup/breakdown of all home games

• Collaborates with coaches on best practices

• Collaborates with Atlantic Capes athletic trainer on injury prevention

• Assists with pre-season/ post-season sports performance evaluations

• Helps with communicating, sharing, and creating athletics events and activities

• Supports athletic orientation programs

• Performs related duties as assigned

Typical Qualifications

Education/Certifications:

• High school diploma or GED

• Associate’s degree preferred

• NSCA, CSCS, NASM certifications or equivalent

Experience:

• Experience in strength and conditioning at the collegiate level

• Coaching experience preferred

Competencies and Skills:

• Demonstrated ability to work independently

• Computer skills to include Microsoft Office products.

Supplemental Information

Terms of Employment:

• Valid New Jersey driver’s license

• Must possess or obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire

• This position may require flexible scheduling to include evenings and weekends and duties at any Atlantic Cape location.

Eligible part-time employees will be enrolled into the DCRP (Defined Contribution Retirement Plan) pension (https://www.nj.gov/treasury/pensions/pension-active-dcrp.shtml) . Employees contribute 5% of their base salary and the college contributes 3% of base salary. Investment options are managed through Prudential Retirement. Life insurance benefits through DCRP are payable to the beneficiary at 1.5X the member's salary.
